Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs OS: Linux I would like the session manager to have the following options: On Login Start automatically saved session Start manually saved session Start with empty session Ask On Logout Save session Ask I would also like "Save Session" to always appear on the K menu even if "Start manually saved session" is not selected.
this will pause your statup, clearly not an acceptable default option. do you think a "choose session at startup" option (default off) in the kcontrol would be the way to go? this should be easy to do now and the code in work/kdebase_appgroups also keeps track of the date saved for each session.

as inspired by bug 123212, the dialog at startup could be optionally activated via holding down a modifier key. this wouldn't be exactly without precedent, even in kde: kdm's auto-login can be suppressed by pressing shift.
I don't understand this request. What does the "Ask" option mean? If it's superfluous, then this bug report is mostly a duplicate of others: Bug 46923 covers the ability to optionally save the session on logout. Bug 62157 covers the ability to load different saved sessions on login. I think the only thing novel about this report is the request to suppress restoring the session on login, which is what Bug 123212 was about.
Given the lack of response to the previous comment I think this bug can be closed as a duplicate of Bug 46923 and Bug 62157.
