(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) In the property-dialog for symlinks there is no field where I see the destination of the symlink this is really missing. It would be even better if I could even edit the destination of the symlink (very useful like in mc). Bye Alex
The symlink destination is in the properties box on the file as of 2000-09-12 cvs code. Right click on file in konqueror properties and it's near the bottom of the box. I will place the editing onto a "wish-list" for konqueror. -Chris
Exists in CVS.
I am using KDE 3.2 (in Gentoo) and I cannot see any means to edit a symlink's destination. IMHO this wishlist item should be reopened.
Yes, I've been missing the possibility to edit symlinks' targets since I use KDE, meaning about 3.1.2 probably. There is a project called Symlink Properties Plugin: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=11626 However, for official KDE I think the symlink target should be on the first tab, below the file name and type. There should be an edit box (with a button for browsing files and choosing the target) and a checkbox "use relative path" which would cause the relative path eg. ../../etc/abcde to be used instead of /etc/abcde.
Just for the record: bug #22540 is now the official home of this wishlist item.
