Description wonkothesane 2004-04-27 15:43:15 UTC
Version: 3.2.2-0.1 Red Hat (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux

Note: I selected Red Hat has my distribution but more specifically I'm using Fedora.

Visiting particular websites causes Konqueror to go to 100% CPU usage (top shows kdeinit using 99.5% CPU or similar). An example of such a site is:

http://www.shiftreload.com.au/

It appears to be the JavaScript on the page that is causing the problem. With JavaScript on, the site causes the above behaviour. With JavaScript off, the page renders and Konqueror is usable (although the page still seems to render quite slowly).

Testing with Mozilla 1.5, the page renders and works without issue or excessive CPU usage.

Ack, that wasn't supposed to be a wishlist item, but rather a crash item.

Same problem on http://www.plos.org with KDE 3.2.2.
