Description Stephane PETITHOMME 2004-04-07 09:53:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Actually Kmail is poping-up one notification per mail. This makes that in the morning people generally have many notifications to close (one by one). It would be nice to have a more intelligent notification window that could list the entry of all new mail, with a kind of summary presenting the origin of each mail, eventually a link to each mail (this is often required from other wishes). This way all new mail could be identify at once and closing the popup window is much faster than repeated <return>

stephane

Changed to JJ, I suppose notification merging is a start for this one.

This is also similar to bug 60264 and bug 57908. could we mark those as duplicate, and then implement both of their proposals in conjunction with this bug? IMHO these three go together, since all three deal with various changes to New Mail Notifications.
Comment 3 kde 2004-05-13 11:27:25 UTC
We could implement (not in any particular order):
1) Turning notifictions on/off on a purely per folder basis.
2) Turning notifictions on/off depending on filtering, i.e. as a target - mentioned in bug 57908. Then notificatons could be turned off for a folder, but if a filter moved a message into it we might want to be told about it.
3) A more descriptive 'New Mail' notification as described in this bug and bug 60264.

Suggestion number 1 is implemented. Consider this fixed.
