Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0) OS: Linux It would be nice if I could keep the mail trash within the desktop trash instead of having two separate items of this kind. At the very least I'd like to have only one trash to be emptied, but seeing removed mail after opening desktop trash (probably in some subfolder) would be nice too. At the configuration level I'd probably want to have 'use desktop trash' as one of the options present while setting special trash folder (currently I can only choose some IMAP folder or some other local folder).
If bug 82562 were implemented it seems like this would be trivial...
Now that the trash:/ system has been completely reworked, does this wish become more feasible?
If that system trash would not be located on imap server, you would not be able to access your deleted email with other email clients.

(regarding comment #3) kmail lets me choose whether Sent or Drafts folder are to be kept on IMAP, or locally - and those are of greater importance, than Trash. But just in case, it is probably good solution to let people make choice which Trash do they want to use. This bug is mainly about implementing local kmail trash in terms of system trash, but the option above is to be remembered.
