additionally the order in the 'Select components' window, in the 'Configure Kontact' dialog and the About-Box should match the order in the main window

Which order do you mean? In the side bar? In the summary view? In the configuration dialog?

Cheers,
Reinhold

Yes, but see below.

No.

IMO the best solution would be changing of order in config dialog
with changes repeated in side bar. But d'n'd in side bar would be also
welcome.

IMO the order in the "side bar" (you mean that bottom thingy, right?) should represent the order in the config dialog. For me a bunch of up-down buttons like in the Configure Toolbars dialog would be enough :)

Sidebar is 'left thingy'. up-down buttons in configuration dialog would
be enough also for me.

Soon we'll be celebrating 'start of consideration' of such simple configuration thing as up/down order pane. C'mon. Any hope for having this implemented before sun burns out? ;)

Still think this should be implemented.

Konfiguration of elements is getting worse in Kontact 1.4 (KDE4.2). Not only I cannot configure order of elements but I cannot remove some unused elements like:

- Mailody
- Time Tracker
- Popup Notes
- Journal (OK, this one I use, but if I would not I couldn't remove this from panel)

Will look at how to implement it.

I add it to my Todo-list
