Version: kde-3.4b2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.92) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux The application order in the sidebar on the left side of konqueror is in kde-3.4 different compared to kde-3.3. Is it possible to change the application order? I would expect a widget with up an down buttons to move an application up and down (just as the toolbar settings or kmail's filter widget). Kontact is now a little confusion when working with the different kde versions. It is at least inconsistent between the different versions.
kontact also changes the order of the sidebar and the overview when switching language. (kde 3.3)
It's not possible to reorder the entries by a gui, however you can change the .desktop files. Ciao, Tobias
Yes, sure you can change the .desktop files *if* you have admin rights on that machine. But for me as a user it would really be nice if I could somehow reorder the icons. I think that's quite a legitimate wish. Cheers, Reinhold
You don't need admin rights. You can change the .desktop files in your ~/.kde. Do not reopen WONTFIX issues unless you want to implement the feature yourself.
BTW: which *.desktop files are to be altered and how should they be altered (okay with an editor, that's not what I mean how should they look like in the end)?
