Version: 1.1.3 (using KDE KDE 3.1.3) Installed from: FreeBSD Ports Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 [FreeBSD] Thread model: posix OS: FreeBSD See subject, it's basically that simple. Load xmms (noatun can't handle large play lists well), which plays through esd, which pipes sound to artsd. This works fine and I get other sounds from KDE, but once I close xmms, artsd cores and leaves this backtrace. I have to manually restart artsd to get sound back. #0 0x286c37af in kill () from /lib/libc.so.5 #1 0x2865d304 in raise () from /usr/lib/libkse.so.1 #2 0x28730172 in abort () from /lib/libc.so.5 #3 0x287068ef in __assert () from /lib/libc.so.5 #4 0x281aa1ca in Arts::StdScheduleNode::start() () from /usr/local/lib/libartsflow.so.1 #5 0x281ab7a8 in Arts::StdFlowSystem::startObject(Arts::Object) () from /usr/local/lib/libartsflow.so.1 #6 0x284f332c in _dispatch_Arts_FlowSystem_00(void*, Arts::Buffer*, Arts::Buffer*) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #7 0x28518a31 in Arts::Object_skel::_dispatch(Arts::Buffer*, Arts::Buffer*, long) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #8 0x2850e920 in Arts::Dispatcher::handle(Arts::Connection*, Arts::Buffer*, long) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #9 0x284e328d in Arts::Connection::receive(unsigned char*, long) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #10 0x2851f6bb in Arts::SocketConnection::notifyIO(int, int) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #11 0x28513536 in Arts::StdIOManager::processOneEvent(bool) () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #12 0x28513730 in Arts::StdIOManager::run() () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #13 0x28510a71 in Arts::Dispatcher::run() () from /usr/local/lib/libmcop.so.1 #14 0x080663be in main () #15 0x08056ef2 in _start ()

Oops, sorry
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed. Thanks
