Description gerard 2003-08-27 22:48:43 UTC
Version:           inconnu (using KDE 3.1.3)
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.2-3mdk)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.21-0.13mdk

I can configure my camera (serial olympus 2020 z) in kcontrol. But when I want to see my pictures in konqueror (camera:/), I just get...nothing.

This camera works fine with gphoto2.

Perhaps it tries to do "gphoto2 --auto-detect", which does not work with serial cameras ??

PS
The bug report system says it does not know anything neither about kio-kamera nor about kcmkamera.

hmm, what is in the file ~/.kde/share/config/kio_camerac? are there any errors in your xsession errors logfile?

[Olympus C-2020Z]
Model=Olympus C-2020Z
Path=serial:/dev/ttyS0

Nothing in /var/log/XFree86.0.log

After trying again, the best I can obtain is to get into
camera://Olympus C-2020Z/DCIM/100OLYMP
but nothing more happens (no picture downloaded)

No error message in the terminal.

will have to checknow that I have a olympus serial camera on my own...

it is however unrelated to 46877, which is a USB autodetect issue.

does
gphoto2 --camera "Olympus C-2020Z" --port serial:/dev/ttyS0 -L

work for you?

$ gphoto2 --camera="Olympus C-2020Z" --port=serial:/dev/tts/0
$ gphoto2 -P

->Works

It also works in Digikam

Here (kde 3.4), I cannot even get it work in KControl (Bad parameter).
I tried /dev/tts/0 and serial:/dev/tts/0

Thanks

Gerard

Please have a look and test if it's related to BUG# 132810. Thank you.

No, no flip-flop !

The camera simply does not work.

Now, it's worth than in 2003, I cannot even configure it.

And it still works with Digikam.

gerard: 12 years later, is this still an issue with recent versions of kamera (assuming you still own a Olympus c 2020 z)?
