Description Thomas Bettler 2006-08-22 16:12:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Hmm really strange behaviour... with my Canon IXUS 55

Note: Just before I deleted .kde/share/config/kio_camerarc and restarted kde to be sure there will be no effects of ancient configuration.

So now I plugg in a camera for the first time (of course I get the popup thing and media_notifier daemon works well, but here I concentrate on kio_camera)
- The camera doesn't appear in camera:/

So then I plug off the camera
- Pop. It's shown in camera:/

I plug it in again and pop
- Pop. It disappears in camera:/

Seems as kio_camera confuses presence and absence of my camera.

So how do your cameras?
Comment 5 B. Clayton 2006-10-21 04:11:40 UTC
I just upgraded to kamera-3.5.4 and I get the same behaviour.
Comment 6 Gilles Schintgen 2006-12-02 23:13:54 UTC
I'm observing the same behaviour on my computer.
Gentoo, KDE 3.5.5, gphoto2-2.2.1, PowerShot A410.
In other words, camera:/ is unusable :-(
Comment 7 Thomas Bettler 2007-01-21 03:08:55 UTC
However after updating udev, hotplug, hal and friends to a recent version
this behaviour somehow disappeared...

Difficult to say what it really fixed.
Works well for me now.
