Description Sebastian Latz 2003-02-10 14:17:54 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When browsing a web page with Konqueror in KHTML mode it whould be a nice feature, to be able to klick right on a html table to export this table to Kspread or OpenOfiice Calc.
The IE and Excel do this well. I know, it's just another poor feature, copied from windows, but i think it's also very useable for people who generate very long HTML tables (maybe bills), and whant them later to edit in any way.

KSpread cannot import HTML, so you should add another wish for that. (If it does not already exist.)

Also a volunteer for developing such a filter would be welcomed. :-)

Have a nice day!

It would make sense for the copy/paste syntax used by khtml and kspread for tables to be the same... It would at least be very good (and potentially simple) for KSpread to have an option in the Text to Columns limiter section that reads Konqueror Table or somesuch... It would make life easier, as people say above :)

The text copied from a table in Konqueror is formatted very simply

---begin---
row 1, column 1
row 1, column 2
row 1, column 3

row 2, column 1
row 2, column 2
row 2, column 3

row 3, column 1
row 3, column 2
row 3, column 3
---end---

The two carriage returns are deliberate ;)
