(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: korganizer Version: 1.91 (KDE 1.91 Beta >= 20000608) Severity: grave When adding an appointment one must call up a dialog either through the "Actions" menu or by right clicking on the schedule area. The the user must set the start and end times via two fields in the dialog. A better way and one used by the gnome calendar would be to allow the user to select a time span directly on the event window and _immediately_ type in an event description. Here's a breakdown and comparison of the semantics: Old way: 1. select action menu or right click over event window 2. select "add event" or "add appointment" 3. wait for dialog to pop up 4. select start time 5. select end time 6. add descriptive text New way: 1. select time span on event window 2. type descriptive text (first keystroke pops in a text dialog covering the selected region) Easy! :) Cheers Mark mcoletti@clark.net
I like this suggestion. I was going to propose that the dropdown menus for Start and End times be modified so that only each hour was shown, the user would then click the hour and a submenu should appear to the side with the 15 minute intervals. This would make the drop down list a lot shorter and eliminate a lot of scrolling up and down. Also the minute intervals should be configurable to 5/10/15/20 minutes. Mark's suggestion is better though.
I like this as well. Also, it should be easy to specify "zero duration" events.
