Thanks for the bug report, and the screen recording. That's helpful, it makes it clear how the bug looks. In the video, there are no icons on the desktop before creating the new text file After renaming it, the icon moves all the way to the left and near the top (about the second row) I can reproduce this on Fedora 43 with Plasma 6.5.4 I'm not able to reproduce this in Plasma built from git-master or Plasma 6.5.4 on Solus. There has been a decent amount of work done on icon positioning lately, so it looks like this has also been fixed. If you still see this bug in Plasma 6.6, please feel free to reopen this bug.
