SUMMARY
Photos in the thumbbar are not marked as selected when use ctrl+a even though all are selected correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on one photo in the thumbbar.
2. Press ctrl+a

OBSERVED RESULT
Status bar shows correct selection: "N of N items selected", selection in the thumbbar does not change.

EXPECTED RESULT
All items in the thumbbar are selected (marked with blue background [using dark theme]).

The thumbnail was originally intended only for selecting the preview image. Nevertheless, we implemented it in digiKam-8.9.0 with Bug 512237
