SUMMARY In Preview, selecting all images with Ctrl-A over the image strip does select all images, but doesn't show the images highlighted. The number in the bottom left corner still confirms the selection. If the images are already selected in the Thumbnail view, and then you switch to preview, the highlight is shown as expected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select only one image, click Preview 2. Press Ctrl-A to select all images OBSERVED RESULT Bottom left selected items updates properly, strip highlight does not EXPECTED RESULT Strip images should all be highlighted SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 43 with Gnome Desktop using official AppImage 8.8.0 Qt Version: official AppImage 8.8.0
The thumb bar in the preview is not a full thumbnail icon view. It only serves to select an image for preview. Maik

And selecting all keypress also works in the preview. Shouldn't the behaviour be at least consistent?
