Created attachment 187062 [details] Screen capture SUMMARY I recently moved to version 8.8.0. Since then (it was ok before), all video previews, whatever type (mp4,MOV, ...) are black. Sound is OK. I can see correctly these videos by F4, opens VLC media player STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have a video 2. click on thumbnail 3. see preview OBSERVED RESULT video is "running", but all black, sound is OK EXPECTED RESULT the video preview SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: W10 pro, 22H2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Prerview was OK before the recently installed 8.8.0 version, but I jumped 2 or 3 versions.

Which digiKam version are you using exactly (Qt5 or Qt6)? Which graphics card are you using? Please disable video hardware acceleration and color table conversion in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous -> System. Does this resolve the issue? Maik

While the Christmas time, i will rebuild the whole Windows installer from scratch with VCPKG paxkage updated (opencv, Qt, ffmpeg). We will seen if the problem remains... Gilles Caulier
