SUMMARY Notifications seemingly ignore the timer chosen in the settings and instead time out in about 4 seconds. This happens whatever value is set. This does not seem to be tied to bug 419421 as the screen refresh rate is 60 Hz (59.93 Hz according to the "Display Configuration" KCM). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set the notification timer in the settings to e.g. 10 seconds 2. Get a notification OBSERVED RESULT The timer setting is ignored and the notification expires in about 4 seconds. EXPECTED RESULT The timer settings are honoured. Does it happen on Wayland too? Or only on X11?

Sorry for my late reply. It happens on Wayland, too. I do not experience this bug with all notifications; the ones which are most reliably too short are those from ZapZap (Qt WhatsApp client).
Just to clarify: You do mean just the notifications plasma-style notifications, not those entirely done by other apps (i.e., that won't go through the standard notification infrastructure, will be styled differently, etc.), right?
Yes, I did not specify that as it seemed obvious.
Does the animation for the notification timeout match the custom time you specified, or the time after which the notification ends up being closed?
No, the animation plays out in a shorter amount of time than what I set (10 seconds). To be crystal clear, the bar goes from full to empty in about 4 seconds, while the animation plays "normally" (as in, it's not choppy nor there are graphical glitches, it's simply shorter).
