With ref to Bug 34362 and Bug 511013 please can the mouse wheel, regular buttons and extra buttons be configuable, as the user is led to believe, via System Settings > Mouse > Configure Extra Buttons Click Add Binding Press the mouse button for which you want to add a key binding. By now this really ought to be trivial for the user to configure.
Are you requesting a new feature that doesn't already exist, or reporting that a feature that does already exist doesn't work properly? I can't quite tell. Also, which version of Plasma are you using?
Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0 Qt Version: 6.9.2 Kernel Version: 6.17.0-5-generic (64-bit) Mouse: SteelSeries Rival 310 It looks like the feature is there in System Settings > Mouse > Configure Extra Buttons > Add Binding but I can't get anything added. Meanwhile I've managed remap the side buttons and wheel with https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper
Press mouse button does nothing.
BTW, in systemsettings/mouse, i dont have anything related to "configure extra buttons" using * kdeframework 6.19.0 * plasma 6.4.5 This looks like this: https://pasteboard.co/PPW9O17uIVbg.png
I have this https://imgur.com/a/PEhBeJD
How weird. Is that something specific to ubuntu ? I'm using gentoo, and my plasma/kde is probably very close to 'stock'.

In System Settings > About this System. When it has Plasma (X11), the Configure Extra Buttons option isn't there. It is only there with Plasma (Wayland). Bottom left corner of the login screen is where you can change to Wayland.
