Description Fernando M. Muniz 2025-09-01 22:39:54 UTC
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Cause Plasmashell to crash.

OBSERVED RESULT
When Plasmashell recovers, the order of apps is not the same as it was, and the window previews of apps, such as multiple images on Gwenview gets completely disorganized.

EXPECTED RESULT
Plasmashell crashing shouldn't affect the position of apps on the panel(s), nor randomize the order of window previews within each app.

Can you attach a screen recording that shows this happening?
Comment 2 Fernando M. Muniz 2025-09-18 02:03:09 UTC
Is there a way of forcing a crash?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2025-09-18 14:01:01 UTC
Yeah: `killall -11 [name of process you want to crash]`

So in this case, `killall -11 plasmashell`
