Description JRC 2025-07-05 14:54:55 UTC
SUMMARY

Please enlarge the size of the battery percentage text when 'Show Battery Percentage on Icon When Not Fully Charged' is enabled. Currently, the battery % only occupies approx one third of the icon space and is too small to read e.g. on up to 14" screens.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.1
Qt Version: 6

On git-master, the percentage text takes up the full width of the battery icon with the panel at 46px and below. That said, it's still pretty small. It would be better for accessibility if it could be made bigger.

Even setting the system tray icons to scale with the panel height, the text is still pretty small and does not scale up with the icon

If we make it any bigger, it'll worsen Bug 438316.

Ultimately what we need here is a fundamentally new design; twiddling the parameters of the existing one is just going to make group X happier at the expense of group Y.

Also, the badge is a standard component; if we change it, it will; change for multiple widgets, not just this one. That makes the story even trickier, and raises the bar for the quality of any design that would be accepted.

So I don't think we can consider this as written, sorry.
