Created attachment 139131 [details] battery icon in panel SUMMARY The battery charging percentage box overlaps the battery icon. This prevents seeing the charging status of the battery. The issue is independent of panel size. The same behaviour is observed at 46 as well as 70. Icon theme: Breeze as well as Breath2 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right-click the battery icon in the panel. Click on "Configure Battery and Battery Settings", enable the "Show percentage" box in the "General" tab and apply settings. EXPECTED RESULT Battery charge percentage, as well as the charging status, should be visible at the same time. Yes, this is why the percentage display is not on by default. There's very little space here to display both a number and an icon. I've worked on a new style in the past, but it wasn't sufficiently better than the status quo so it didn't get merged.
I think something has to be done because it's impossible to tell at a glance whether your device is charging. Could the color of the icon change, e.g. to green, or something?
FWIW this is one of the reasons I have my tray icon size scale with the panel. :) With the current visualization, the problem only appears at the small default icon size.
It looks terrible though and deviates from any OS I know that has anything system tray-like. I think I'd rather add the widget to the panel (outside of the tray), but would still prefer it in the tray.
