Created attachment 179447 [details] Comparison of proprieties window of two different version of Dolphin # SUMMARY In various parts of Dolphin (Properties window, overwriting window, etc.), timezones are no longer displayed as acronyms. As an Italian user, I now see the three dates (Creation, Modification, and Access) followed by "Ora standard dell’Europa centrale" instead of the more concise "CET". This also causes issues with window width. The problem shows in various languages. I have attached an image showing the current display (Dolphin – Version 24.12.3) on the left, and how it used to appear (Dolphin – Version 23.08.5) on the right. Select "Properties". # OBSERVED RESULT The timezone is displayed as "Ora standard dell’Europa centrale". # EXPECTED RESULT The timezone should be displayed as "CET". # SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 41 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.13.6-200.fc41.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
Longer strings already caused file overwrite dialog to be wider than screen. It is tracked as a Bug 497732
I confirm this on Dolphin built from git-master On the file properties, the timezone I see is "Central Standard Time" rather than CST
Can confirm. For a brief time it showed a UTC offset instead of a code, which I personally think is superior, but I can no longer verify in what version that was. In any case it used to show codes and now it shows the full names.
