STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open system settings
2. click on the spell check category
3. do nothing on that page
4. click another category

OBSERVED RESULT

get prompted for my password, even though I have not changed any setting

EXPECTED RESULT

don't get prompted unnecessarily

Thanks.

It's not asking you for a password, just whether or not to apply the settings. That confused me a bit.

You are right though, it should not ask for this when nothing has changed. We already have a bugreport for this.
