Description Mozo 2024-11-24 00:03:03 UTC
SUMMARY
When check a folder properties for the first time, it's like a crash. Dolphin disappears for a moment, loses focus then reappears and the tasks in the panel gets scrambled which you can usually observe in a KDE crash. This problem doesn's exist when one checks a file properties.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Close all Dolphin instances.
2. Open Dolphin.
3. Check a random file's properties.

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin disappears for a moment and the tasks in the panel gets scrambled

EXPECTED RESULT
It should show folder properties smoothly like when we check a file properties.

It's here on all my KDE machines. I can record a video.

I can't attach the file for it's 4.5Mb and the allowed size is 4Mb. Here's a link to a file host:

See how the oblects in the panel are scrambled after checking the folder properties and how Dolphin disappears completely for a second.

Interesting, thank you for the video. This might be a bug with task manager.

But Dolphin behaves weird as well - it's disappears like it crashes for a moment. If you try a second time to check a folders properties without closing Dolphin, there's no problem.
