SUMMARY After a long period away from computer, the Desktop icons have been reset to their default location, spanning the Desktop at the top, from left to right, sorted by directory/file, alphabetically STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Rearrange icons on Desktop to a non-default arrangement 2. Leaving the computer on and logged in, let it sit for a long time (hours). I cannot say how long; in my case, it was several hours during the day and overnight. 3. Eventually, icons will be relocated to their default locations. OBSERVED RESULT Desktop icons are changed from the User's preferred locations to the default locations, after a long period of time. EXPECTED RESULT Desktop icons should remain in the User's preferred location ... forever. ;-) Regardless of shutting down, regular updates, etc. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: n/a macOS: n/a Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 24.10; kernel 6.11.0-8-generic (64-bit); Wayland KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
