Energy consumption of battery

SUMMARY

Power vs time graph in System Settings --> Energy shows incorrect power values for period of no usage. My case: Battery was decharging, power was roughly 10 W. Power increased to 20 W by increased load (watching videos). Battery is faulty and dropped suddenly from 50% to 5% and laptop switched to other battery. The faulty battery wasn't in use for 40 minutes. Thus, the power in this interval was 0 W. Then the laptop was attached to power again and charging of both batteries set in. Charging is now represented by 20 W power. The values from the last discharge (20 W) and the insetting charge (20W) were simply connected. This implies a wrong interpretation of constant load of 20 W. But the battery wasn#T in use, it should be showing 0 W.

Parallel problem: Discharge and Charge are represented by power of the same sign. If discharge is represented by positive power, charge should be represented by a negative charge. Or maybe different colors could be used. It is hard to distinguish between charge and discharge in the graphs.

Please have a look at the attached screenshot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Switch between discharging and charging and look at the power consumption.

OBSERVED RESULT

Power consumption between end of discharge and begin of charge is connected by a line and thus simulates a constant power load.

EXPECTED RESULT

Empty or unloaded Battery should show 0 W for this time period.
