*** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY It seems that something about Global Menu conflicts with DaVinci Resolve while in Wayland session, causing Resolve's keyboard shortcuts to not function correctly. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Global Menu widget 2. Run DaVinci Resolve using Wayland session, keyboard shortcuts don't work properly 3. Remove Global Menu widget 4. Run DaVinci Resolve using Wayland session, keyboard shortcuts work correctly 5. Switching to X11 session, DaVinci Resolve's shortcuts will function with Global Menu in use OBSERVED RESULT When the Global Menu widget is active (such as in a panel) DaVinci Resolve's keyboard shortcuts don't function correctly, requiring Global Menu to be removed in order to use these shortcuts. Maybe Global Menu conflicts with DaVinci Resolve somehow. EXPECTED RESULT DaVinci Resolve's shortcuts should work properly with Global Menu being active. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: N/A macOS: N/A (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: Garuda Linux (Arch-based), 6.10.8-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DaVinci Resolve menu bar correctly shows in Global Menu, but with Global Menu active, keyboard shortcuts within DaVinci Resolve do not function correctly unless using X11 session. Removing Global Menu permits keyboard shortcuts to function correctly within DaVinci Resolve, but we no longer have access to the application's menus as DaVinci Resolve will not return them to the app window. In DaVinci Resolve (under Wayland session) with Global Menu running, keyboard shortcuts do not function properly; sometimes they work, but most of the time they do not. Activating the relevant control from the menu bar will temporarily allow the keyboard shortcut to work (such as razor tool mapped to Ctrl+B not working until razor tool used through menu bar). Even controls like Space to play and pause do not function. Some controls like Undo (Ctrl+Z) do not function even after the relevant command is selected from the menu bar. I am not totally certain this bug lies within Global Menu or not, but it seems that something with the Global Menu daemon is conflicting with DaVinci Resolve, causing its shortcuts to not work correctly. I noticed that if I switch to X11, that the shortcuts will function correctly with Global Menu in place.
This looks like the same issue as bug 500692. I'm closing this in favor of the other report since that one has more information *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 500692 ***
