CRITICAL BECASUE USER IS LOCKED OUT OF HIS/HER COMPUTER

SUMMARY
***
After idle, lock screen permanently locks computer. Putting pasword does not bring back the desktop. User is locked out of his/her desktop.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Let KDE (default settings) lock itself after walking away from the computer (make yourself a tea/cold drink)
2. Come back
3. Put your password in, press Enter.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only wallpapers is seen (I have the same photo for lock/login/wallaper). No desktop after putting password in. Pressing Enter or space bar or clicking does notihing. No desktop. Cannot unlock. Only blocked wallpaper is seen. One must hard reset destroying/corrupting data (opened softare, work,...).

When it happens? Randomly before. Now more often than not.

EXPECTED RESULT
Revert the changes of unlocking computer to the working state of KDE 5.xx. or KDE 6.0 (not 6.xx). Let the user to unlock his computer without destroying data/disk corruption with hard reset.

Settins changed from default:
only layout from "folder view" --> "desktop view" (I am not the lowest denominator of MS Window expat).

See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487495

1. Do you see your mouse cursor? Does it change over the center area where the password field is? If you click there, can you (blindly) put in your password?
2. What happens if you change to a virtual console and back? (Ctrl-Alt-F1, Alt-Left)
