Description jesaa 2024-03-10 20:49:39 UTC
SUMMARY

I recently updated to Plasma 6 and tried to run Kile. Unfortunatley, Kile just states:

"Kile cannot start as a recent version the Okular library could not be found.

Please install the Okular library before running Kile."

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update KDE Neon (to the recent Plasma 6)
2. Install Kile
3. Start Kile

OBSERVED RESULT

An error message stating, "Kile cannot start as a recent version the Okular library could not be found.
Please install the Okular library before running Kile."

EXPECTED RESULT

Kile running

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2024-03-10 21:05:26 UTC
Distro packaging bug; Kile hasn't been ported to Qt6 yet so special packaging is needed to make it work with the older Qt5 dependencies.
