Description Aaron Wolf 2024-03-04 04:28:46 UTC
The old Redshift system and its plasma widget had some extra features missing in Night Light. It had gamma settings and color controls besides just effect strength. But the *main* thing I appreciated was a control for extra darkness.

Where it works, an option could be added to reduce the display brightness at night along with the redder color.

In my case, system display brightness doesn't work with external displays anyway. Redshift used software to add darkness overall. So, my displays were both redder and *darker* when redshift was on. Ideally, this could be an option added to Night Light. If this were added, it could potentially be controlled with scrolling on the system tray icon (which currently works for hardware control but that doesn't work for external displays)
