Lots of empty space where more info could be displayed

SUMMARY
[Feature request] Please show more info while fetching updates

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Discover
2. Click on Updates section
3. Click on Refresh button

OBSERVED RESULT
The fetching updates process has very little information about what is currently doing.
Just a "Fetching updates..." message and a progress bar
Even though there is more than enough space below, there is no info about which repositories are checked?
Which servers / mirrors are used?
What is the response latency from those servers / mirrors?
What is the download speed from those servers / mirrors?

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect to see more info like:
- The repositories being used
- The servers / mirrors being used
- The latency of those servers / mirrors
- The download speed for those servers / mirrors
I don't want to just stare at a message and a progress bar, which might not even move for some time on a slow connection.
And of course I want to also be able to learn something, like what repositories and servers / mirrors my distro uses.
Maybe even spot or debug some problems with the repositories or the servers / mirrors.
Nala, for example shows more info while fetching updates:
https://phoenixnap.com/kb/nala-apt
https://github.com/volitank/nala
So it would be nice to se after that message and progress bar, which repositories and servers / mirrors are used.
And what is their access time (latency) and download speed
If it's displayed in a nice column based layout, it's even better.
Maybe also display how long all took and how much data was downloaded, probably in a tooltip while mouse over the "Updates(x)" menu item as the page is at the end filled with the update items.
Or show it in the status bar, as besides the "Select All / None" and "Total size: x" there is still space to display something.

Comment 1 John 2024-02-23 06:22:28 UTC
This seems to be similar, possibly a duplicate:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456362

This, with "Fetching updates..." being stuck:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475938
Also seems to happen from time to time.

So it would be nice to see more info and have a more precise understanding of what is going on when it gets stuck too.
