Package: kmail
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.2 2.96-0.76mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-6mdk
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi KMail Developement team !

I've 2 questions which are not answered in the KMail FAQ :

* How can I read attached document encoded with Eudora : I tried the binhex program from the macutils package but it does not work.
Outlook reads these attachements without any problems
If you do not see which kind of attachement I'm talking about please mail me I'll try to send you a mail with this type of attachement.

* Could we implement HTML mail writter in KMail ? I would really appreciate this functionnality.

I would like to thank you about your wonderful work :-)

Happy coding

Gilles Foucault

Yes you can send attachments to <bugnumber>@bugs.kde.org once you got=20
the confirmation mail with the assignment of a bugnumber.

Please use "forward as attachment" to send the mail with the undecodable=20
attachment.

If you can't send it because it contains private data consider sending=20
it to me in private mail or strip most of the content of the bosy parts=20
(but leave the header and body structure intact).

I had a similar problem (in Kmail 1.4.2) with attachments sent by Eudora
recently and I was able to decode most of them with 'uudeview' (which comes
with SuSE; I don't know about Mandrake) though 'uudeview' did complain about
the encoding ("Warning: Boundary expected on Multipart message but found
EOF"). If it is the same problem all the attachments in question worked for
me in the CVS version of Kmail.

I tried the uudeview program and it decoded succesfully the attachement.

I tried this (with the method "forward as attachment") but the kde mail=20
server refused my mail because of the attachement.

This bug report is a duplicate of bug 32047 (concerning the Binhex conversion).
Even if we can convert Mac/Binhex files uudeview or with Binhex, it would be
nice to have an automatic conversion in kmail, like in mozilla mail.
I can send an example file if necessary.
