SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be using the (535) proprietary Nvidia drivers, (obtained via sudo ubuntu-drivers install)
2. Open a Firefox, (115.0) window
3. Look at the right side of header bar.

OBSERVED RESULT
- All three icons are missing, but if you mouse over the area where they should be, though I get nothing for the Min and Max icons, (visually or functionally) you do at least get a lit circle where the Close icon should be that does indeed function to close the window.
- Note: This does seem to be limited to Firefox windows, as I see and can operate with all three on every other application, (KDE or other) that I've tried under Plasma (Wayland) so far.

EXPECTED RESULT
- All three icons should be shown and should be functional.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.240.0
Qt Version: 6.5.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 publiclyvisibleemail 2023-07-02 14:52:31 UTC
All three icons are visible and usable now, but I haven't updated anything since yesterday, so presuming it's an intermittent issue maybe?
Comment 2 publiclyvisibleemail 2023-07-02 15:05:39 UTC
And they're gone again, two seconds later. If it helps, I closed all windows I had had open when the three icons were showing to get me to an empty desktop, (common thing for me to do at least for Firefox windows to clear all history / identifying info from my prior browser session before starting a new one - and yes, I'm apparently one of the last people on the planet who doesn't do tabs - I open all Firefox windows as independent windows so that I can alt-tab between them as all other OS windows, as I've been doing for decades). Opened new Firefox window, (Meta+"firefox"+Enter) maximized that window, (probably by just double-clicking the top bar vs using an icon, but not sure) and then opened a second window, which I then unmaximized, (again, probably by double-clicking the top bar, but also not sure - after this long, I just do things via muscle memory ;) ) and then noticed that the Min/Max/Close icons were gone again.

I can reproduce this on my system which has AMD graphics.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download Neon Unstable (I used neon-unstable-20231113-1400.iso)
2. Burn to USB and boot up with it
3. Launch Firefox

For me, only a minimise button is visible.
Comment 4 Paul Worrall 2023-11-16 10:56:31 UTC
Correction: The minimise button is missing for me too. (The button I thought was minimise is actually the "Search Tabs" menu button)

neon-unstable-20231126-1118
The buttons are visible in X11 session but not wayland.
Looks like firefox is not picking the KDE theme only GTK.

I have the exact same problem on a clean install of Kubuntu 23.10. However, after adding the backports PPA and updating everything, the problem is fixed. I now have the Firefox icons back.

So it seems the packages in the "backports PPA" have some fixes that are applied on top of the regular packages that bring back Firefox's icons.

I'm not getting any of the window management buttons, but in their place is a button that brings up a Tab Search function
Comment 11 Paolo Zamponi 2024-01-04 08:40:10 UTC
For me it seems to works now...
Comment 12 Doug 2024-01-05 00:09:34 UTC
This problem is fixed for me as well.
