SUMMARY

On Windows 11 22H2 22621.1413, the text is not rendered correctly, resulting in (apparently) random characters not being displayed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install KDE Connect (I've tried using both the Windows store version and the offline installer)
2. Launch KDE Connect program through windows searchbox or any other method.
3. After restarting the computer, the problem persists.

OBSERVED RESULT
Some characters of the displayed text everywhere in the program are not displayed, which results in impossible to read text. In some places, a greater proportion of characters are missing than in others. (screenshots attached)

EXPECTED RESULT
Text should be rendered correctly.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 11 22H2 22621.1413

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hardware: Microsoft Surface Pro 7. (problem occurs both in desktop and tablet mode)

I have the same issue with 22.12.3 (Windows 10 Pro). Switching back to 22.12.1 fixes the issue.

So in testing I think this is due to the change in how high dpi scaling is handled made in this commit: https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-kde/-/commit/12d8adef763efd954c08ac488a1a04e9ad2fbc51

I build from master with only that commit reverted and the issue seems to be gone.

This bug could be a duplicate of
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468158
- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467915

I did not want to close any report, because I don't know if the bugtracker should have one ticket per OS or not

This was fixed with release 23.08.01 (published to the Windows Store a few days after this bug was opened)
