Created attachment 157033 [details] Picture of issue SUMMARY When I lock my screen for a while, then unlock my computer, the desktop icons disappear! The only way to show the desktop icons is to restart plasmashell. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Lock the screen (don't use sleep mode, just lock) for a while 2. Unlock the screen 3. Desktop icons are missing OBSERVED RESULT Desktop icons are missing after unlocking EXPECTED RESULT Desktop icons should still show even after leaving it for a while, then unlocking SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 22.10 (With backports ppa) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-35-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NAVI22 Manufacturer: ASUS
Eek. If you restart plasmashell with `systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service`, do the icons come back? Also there's a chance this *might* have been fixed with the fix for Bug 464873, which will be released with Plasma 5.27.3 in a week. So if we haven't figured the issue out by then, it would be grat if you could upgrade to 5.27.3 once it's released and re-test. Thanks a lot!
Also if restarting plasma fixes it, it's probably Bug 466823.
