Description myndstream 2023-02-07 09:55:29 UTC
SUMMARY
In Debian11/KDE when I open a m3u playlist it doesn't show many of its tracks. In the console there are these errors:
kf.filemetadata: Unable to open file readonly: "path"
path is the correct filepath of the music track file.
I didn't change the permissions and they are set so my user can Change&Modify: I can change the ratings in Dolphin for example.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a m3u playlist with track in various locations

OBSERVED RESULT
Many tracks are not displayed in the playlist

EXPECTED RESULT
All of the tracks should be displayed in the playlist, like in VLC, and also be modifyable

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian11
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A second problem is how to make track covers not display (in the mini-view when the window has a small width)...only some of the tracks have covers set so it should either display a placeholder for those that don't or none at all and I'd like to configure it so that none at all are displayed.

This is a really old version; over two years old. Can you try again with a more recent version of Elisa and KDE Frameworks?

Would try a more recent version of Elisa if there was a .deb file to easily install.

Will try a more recent version of KDE once the next version of Debian is out, if I can check with a new version earlier I'll comment.

The latest release is available on Flathub. You might also be able to try using Debian Sid.

There's not really a way to check integrity of packages on flathub afaik https://github.com/flathub/flathub/issues/1498
I'd install a deb file that I can hashsum if there was one or build from source if it's was easily possible. Other than that I'll install it (try again) once the new version of Debian is out.
