SUMMARY This is an usability issue I have with the Overview trackpad gesture. I remember that when it was still experimental, it was on four fingers swipe upwards and Desktop Grid was on four fingers pinch, which actually makes sense given the way those effects occur during the gesture. But now they're the other way around, feeling completely unnatural and there is also the problem of being unable to reliably do pinch gestures with four fingers. Almost always, it triggers the other gestures first, like the four fingers downwards or upwards. I use a Lenovo Ideapad 330 and it does support multitouch gestures nicely, but is a nightmare to do pinch gestures with so many fingers on it So I ask to put them back to how they were before during testing. Put overview gesture back on four fingers going upwards. I don't understand why they were made the other way around before release. If that is not possible, is it possible to at least get an option to swap the two? Ultimately I believe we returned to four finger swipe up showing the Desktop Drig to preserve people's existing muscle memory. But I agree with you, Overview is a better default here.

With Plasma 6 there is a new effect that combines the overview and desktop grid effects into a three state design, which also changed the gestures again, so the overview will be accessible by either 4 finger swipe up once or 4 finger swipe down twice (the latter will first open the grid before it switches to the overview on the second swipe).
