SUMMARY On a new, un-customised install of Plasma, there are several applications that don't correctly remember their size or maximisation state. One example is Dolphin, and another is Gwenview. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Plasma, leaving settings unchanged 2. Open Dolphin, and resize the window 3. Close Dolphin 4. Re-open Dolphin Dolphin doesn't exhibit the "forgetting maximisation" behaviour, but it does forget resizes. Gwenview forgets both resizes and whether it's maximised. Apologies if this is two separate bugs in Dolphin and Gwenview, it happens to multiple windows so I suspected some underlying common cause. OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin window is the same size as when it was originally opened. EXPECTED RESULT Dolphin window should be the size you resized it to. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux 6.0.6 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is on Wayland with the open-source AMD driver. I have multiple monitors, both scaled to 125%.
Are you using X11 or Wayland?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Are you using X11 or Wayland? Hi Nate, this is on Wayland.
Can you attach your ~/.config/dolphinrc and ~/.config/gwenviewrc files?

Hi Nate, no problems - I've attached both of those. I redacted the `Recent Files` section of my gwenviewrc. As an aside, Gwenview is now remembering the window size and maximisation state - I have no idea what changed, maybe it's just a slow learner ;-) Dolphin is still misbehaving, though.
Hmm, I don't see in there what I was expecting to see.
Hi Nate, We have the same problem here with digiKam under Windows (Bug 460779). This problem only occurs with the latest KF5 versions. What do you expect for a problem in the config file when the problem occurs? Maik
