(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: KDE 3.0.0 Severity: wishlist Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Not Specified OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified It would be nice to have an menuentry at the right mouse click for an email to specify a reminder until when the email should be answered. Once done for a special email address this reminder always starts whenever a new message comes from this emailaddress and stops automatically when I answer the email. But when I didn't answer within the specified time I will get a reminder that I should answer the email. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)

#1 I think, Outlook has something like this: Mail follow up. Maybe this could be solved using existing features: When a mail needs to be answered at a specific time, add a task associated with that email, expiring at the particular point of time. The task will pop up a reminder leading back to the email - everything is fine. Although this could be done manually, some automation might be nice. #2 As far as I know, a message can be marked as task. The only effect at the moment is, the message gets a special icon. If the message were associated with a real task and the edit-task dialog would be opened, one can add notes and a date of expiration - everything is fine again.

[FIXED] Right click to message and choose option: Create To Do/Reminder. There are a lot options about reminding
Creating a reminder attaching a message item is possible, yes. But actually, as both the summary and the original report clearly state, this request is more about an auto-reminder, for example per sender address. While the exact logic remains to be carefully determined, this request remains valid for kmail2, probably component "general". Please reopen and reassign.
Alternatively, please mark this one a duplicate of Bug #252402, which deals with the same idea of an autoreminder proposing a very reasonable filter approach.
I reopened https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252402 and assigned to Akonadi as you suggested. Sorry for having closed this, was part of KMail1 bugs cleaning. Thanks a lot for your follow up. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 252402 ***
