(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: khtml Version: KDE 3.0.2 Severity: normal Installed from: Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.1 2.96-0.63.1mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-2dmm OS/Compiler notes: I'm experiencing new problems printing HTML pages with Konqueror. I don't know if this is a KHTML bug or a bug elsewhere but it just manifested itself when I upgraded to 3.0.2 (stable) I'm seeing a number of situations where for example a series of HOWTO pages will all print so that the font size rendered on paper varies from page to page. I'm working on writing a HOWTO using the same template for each page. In terms of formatting it's all very simple stuff. I can find nothing to distinguish the "bad" pages from the "good" pages. Most disconcerting of all is that I've found a number of pages that print in letters too small for me to measure without a micrometer. The text is being rendered perfectly but I require a powerful magnifying glass to read it! One example is here: http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-devel/2002/06/0215.html The on-screen rendering is fine but I can't print it in a useful way. Both in the print pre-view and in the actual hardcopy what's happening is that the lines are not wrapping at any sane limit. They extend the entire width of the page and beyond. The print engine seems to be trying to make these incredibly long lines fit the width of the page by scaling it down to the most ridiculously small font possible and so the entire document gets printed in letters that must be about 1/72" high. I'm printing via CUPS on a Brother HL-1440 Foomatic+HL-1250. It's not a native Post-Script printer but it has done an excellent job with everything until now. It prints this page perfectly with Netscape. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application manually changed)
