Description Werner Meyer 2002-07-25 09:30:25 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kaddressbook
Version: 3.0.2 KDE 3.0.2 (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc-2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: SuSE 8.0

Moin
after syncing using kpilot or importing a *.cvs file it occours first time that I was not able to write any updates on addressbook records.
Any time the addressbook db ist to be saved I get a ugly "write error".

This behavior makes it impossible to use this nice feature kaddressbook.

Hi Werner

it seems there is still a lock file that detain kaddressbook
from saving the data.
Make sure that no application that use the addressbook is running
and remove all files from $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock/

Ciao
Tobias

This behaviour of leaving stale lock files back in the vCard directory is
fixed in CVS HEAD now.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
