Screenshot showing the settings and the real size for the trash

SUMMARY
The trash config doesn't work. Neither are elements deleted after 90 day (I saw today elements from the end of march in the trash), nor is the size kept under the configured 1%. That would be 2 GB. Instead my trash folder was 36 GB large (which Dolphin was showing 1.5 GB of size when I selected all elements (as you can see on the screenshot). This makes it really hart to catch by the user what's going on - since if you select everything it's showing a wrong size.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Automatic cleanup with 1%, 90 days, and the setting "remove oldest elements" when it exceeds 1%.
2. Put dozens of GB of data in the trash.
3. Look in the Trash folder and mark all files/folders and select calculate in the details dialog.

OBSERVED RESULT
The size will be above 1% of the diskspace specified

EXPECTED RESULT
The size should never exceed 1%.

Does automatic cleanup get triggered if you put one more item in the trash? If so, it's Bug 205854. If not, it's Bug 414519.

@Nate you have two bugs for this? lol.

Nothing showed up in my search before creating this one.

But count it as resolved: I've deleted KDE and installed Gnome. Works for me now :)

Ok darn, I guess we'll never know which of those issues the bug was. Sorry you had a bad experience.
