SUMMARY Prior to 5.25, I could switch between a full screen VM running Windows 11 or a Remmina session running an RDP connection by pointing at a hot corner configured to launch Desktop Grid or Present Windows. Since 5.25 screen edges/hot corners do not accept input when a window is full screen. This also applies to full screen browser windows (which I never use but tested just to verify the problem - I don't know that this worked before, in other words, but I suspect it did). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Upgrade to 5.25 or 5.25.1 2. Set screen edges to trigger Desktop Grid or Present Windows (or any other effect as far as I can tell). OBSERVED RESULT When pointing at relevant corner/edge, nothing happens. EXPECTED RESULT When pointing at relevant corner/edge, effect is launched SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch, Plasma 5 KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I should have added I'm using X, not Wayland.
This was an intentional change; see the discussion in Bug 455490 as well as a way you can go back to the old behavior if you don't like the new behavior. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 455490 ***
OK, I see, I'll search harder next time! Thanks.
No worries!
Issue still present in KDE 5.25.4, this is really a major issue as now, I'm unable to multitask effectively between the KDE Desktop and the Windows RDP which I need to for work.
As mentioned in Bug 455490, you can go back to the old behavior with System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Screen Edges > Check the checkbox for "Remain active when windows are fullscreen". *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 455490 ***
