(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kscreensaver Version: KDE 3.0.2 Severity: normal Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.16-pre1 OS/Compiler notes: Hi Screensavers (I use the slideshow) doesn't have Xinerama support. They are shown in the middle of the two monitors. Morph3d only blanks the first screen and pipes is in the middle of the screen and the menu bar on the second screen is not hidden. I think there are more problems so there is simply no xinerama support in the kscreensaver collection. A idea for the slideshow show one image on the first screen a second on the second screen at one time. thanks have fun Felix (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application manually changed)
I don't know.... it looks OK to me. What exactly do you want? Two copies of the screensaver running, one on each head? I think that one big screensaver is suitable. They seem to work for me.
Subject: Re: No Xinerama support for the screensavers As I wrote in the report some screensavers only blank the first screen. But maybe that is not kdes fault. A slideshow simply looks ugly if you don't have 2 TFTs with small or nearly none borders. Maybe you can display to images, on on the first one on the second. You can also switch between the displays. The first on the first screen, second on second screen third on the first again... Maybe blank the second screen for screensavers that don't support both in a nice looking way. thanks have fun Felix
Subject: Re: No Xinerama support for the screensavers Please give an example of a screensaver in 3.1.0 or CVS which does this, because I couldn't find one. This is more of a wishlist, and #27635 is basically the same issue (this specifically is reported there anyways). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 27635 ***
