SUMMARY On Plasma 5.24.2 on Fedora Linux 35, I have discovered that screencasting full screen games does not work. When I try to screencast using OBS Studio (v27.2.0) to Twitch, the only time the screencast updates is when the desktop is in view. When I'm in the game itself, the screencast completely freezes and no frames are being streamed to OBS Studio. I observed this issue with Sonic Lost World, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic CD, and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle from Steam. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install OBS Studio from RPM Fusion 2. Install any one of the games in the description and configure for full screen at native resolution. 3. Attempt to stream/record the game in OBS Studio while playing it. OBSERVED RESULT The video stream in OBS contains the last frame (or sometimes just nothing at all) while the audio is continually streamed in. EXPECTED RESULT The video stream in OBS receives and records the gameplay as I am doing it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 35 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This previously worked with Plasma 5.23.5 on Fedora Linux 35, as I streamed playing Sonic CD to Twitch a few weeks back doing so.
