Description hello 2022-01-24 10:43:58 UTC
I have some system resources widgets on my desktop. It would be good if the desktop could be seen even if the screen is locked.

That completely defeats one of the purposes of screen locking. Not sure we could ever offer that even as an option.

What we could maybe do is allow conditionally adding a separate set of widgets to the lock screen.

That's true.
Main proprose of the screen lock is block anyone to have acces to your session. That's includes viewing the session.

You could just disable the auto screen locking.

Not completely, as I see it. If the desktop had open sensitive documents on it then yes it would be a security issue, but just being able to see the desktop while the session is locked is not an issue. At least not in my situation (home office), and that would be the same for a large number of other users.
