The number of products listed on https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi makes it difficult to file your bug reports in the correct product. If we could see a screenshot of the product either when hovering the product link or on https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=theproduct
The effects would be that:
- the reporter would categorize correctly more often
- that we would get more reported bugs, because the enter bug page is frightening enough to scare away some reporters
- that it would be easier to which products are frontend and backend (thus likey having no relevant screenshot)
- screenshot database would require maintenance, unless the screenshots (or their thumbnails) available on https://apps.kde.org/theproduct/ are used
Unfortunately these would drift out of sync very quickly, which is a problem we already have in the existing places where we show product screenshots (e.g. apps.kde.org, as you mention). Also, if we did it anyway--perhaps by re-using the ones on apps.kde.org--the length of that page would be even bigger due to the additional content on it. So it would be even more scary and intimidating!
