Description Hendrik 2022-01-05 18:09:47 UTC
SUMMARY
It's not possible to set up the night color to start after 0:00.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open 'Night Color' in 'System Settings'
2. Set 'Activation Time' to 'Custom Time'
3. Set 'Turn on at' to a time after 0:00 e.g. 01:00
4. Set 'Turn off at' to 8:00
5. Click Apply

OBSERVED RESULT
'Error: Morning is before evening.' is displayed and the configuration remains is not applied

EXPECTED RESULT
The night light turns on at 01:00 and turns off at 08:00

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please, I work late hours and need an artificial sunset after 0:00
The morning comes before the evening, which comes before the next morning. That's how days work. This should not be an error.

This is not a duplicate of that bug. This bug report is about not being able to set time ranges where the evening is "before" the morning; the other one is a request to add an option to also set "day color". These are completely independent issues.

The bug janitor is not notifying about my merge request (perhaps because I only added the bug keyword in a later edit?); anyway, here it is: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/2868
