Here is how it looks like with the white background.

Yakuake cannot change background color
***
After last update, I can no longer change Yakuake background color, it stays white, which is very annoying and makes the whole program useless at night.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Get the latest version of Yakuake
2. The introduction pop up window will show letting you set the key bind for it
3. Press that key you have just binded and Yakuake will appear with the white background

OBSERVED RESULT
The background is white no matter the color scheme or background color set in settings. The transparency is not working either.

EXPECTED RESULT
The color should change anyhow, but it stays the same.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

I have managed to change the background by editing the Breath color scheme for Manjaro, so it looks like it is more Manjaro oriented issue.

The appearance of the terminal is controlled by the terminal profile.

In Yakuake go to Manage Profiles > Edit > Appearance. Which one is selected there?

It looks like Manjaro recently changed its default for the Konsole profile and/or its definition. If you are unhappy with the result please report that to Manjaro

To change the background color/overall terminal appearance go to "Manage Profiles > Edit > Appearance"

BTW, the "Background color" setting in "Configure Yakuake" > Appearance is unrelated to this, that controls something else entirely (yes, it's confusing)

See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447050 for the confusing setting
Comment 6 francebaciu 2021-12-16 20:16:49 UTC
by changing the profile (right click if yakuake is open, edit actual profile) and you switch the color schema to breath it is normal again. The problem is that you manually have to change the profile by right click -> change profile. I'm not able to edit the default profile - it just creates a new profile!
Comment 7 Nicolas Fella 2021-12-16 20:19:20 UTC
You can set the new profile as the default profile

The default Terminal didn't change it's background colour, only Yakuake did.
