SUMMARY *** To make the new overview effect truly a great 1 stop shop for getting things done quickly between tasks, I believe allowing the new krunner functionality to interact with workspaces + panels, and by extension allow users to interact with the panel in overview in general. *** Desired actions from overview *** - Drag items from krunner to panel - Drag krunner application items to a workspace to launch on a specific workspace - Access panel quickly to change systray and appindicators *** Use cases: *** 1. User wishes to see panel while full screen. - A user can access overview and directly adjust systray or appindicator options. - Specific: A user is playing a full screen game with a controller and the screen sleep keeps going off. Hit overview and click the widget/appindicator for caffeine-ng 2. User wishes to pin an application from krunner onto his panel - A user can hit overview button, type an app name, then drag it to the panel for quick launching - A user wishes to launch an app on a new workspace - A user can access overview and search an app, then drag to a new workspace to launch it on that workspace Note: I know the panel related items may be really difficult technically with kwin's structure just from hearing the parachute dev's comments, but maybe not. Thought I would throw it out there. *** SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.23 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I hope that you mean krunner and workpace are integrated *together*, because this was not about integrating them into the overview. It clearly states that. It's about integrating them to work *with each other*, meaning krunner can drag an app to a workspace, and krunner can drag an app to a panel
